He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hynek and Annastacia Hynek (Bruna); his stepmother Milly; his sister Patricia; and his granddaughter Jessie.
He is survived by: his wife Edna Helmlinger; his brother John; and his children, Denise Foust (Graham), David Hynek (Jill), Amy Dalebout (Jody), Alan Hynek (Kathy), Lori Hagedorn (Mark) and Lee Hynek (Ariel). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund is established to Catholic Charity.
