He was predeceased by: his daughter Misty Marie (Leukemia); his granddaughter Angel Marie; and his parents, Lela Carrier and George Carrier. He is survived by: his daughter Wendy Dawn (Dan Atkeson); his wife Freda; his grandchildren, Misty, Jared Randolph, Erica Atkeson, Zach Axton, Holly, Quincy Poore, Elijah, Jeremiah and Victoria Atkeson; his great grandchildren, William, Josiah, Everlee, James, Addaline and Thatcher; and his brother Don Carrier. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
