He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Tholen and Margaret Tholen (Berens); his wife Agnes Schumacher; and his son Rick Tholen. He is survived by: his children, Greg Tholen (Stacy) of Grinnell, Rhonda Rudell, Tina Parks (Eddie) and Steve Tholen; and his grandchildren, Mindy Hilt (Eric), Tyler Tholen, Tanner Tholen (Leslie), Trisha Hageman (Tracy), Tenille Gillespie (Tuker), Jenna Grater (Danny), Trevor Parks (Rene), Tinley Hahn (Tyler) and Kelly Fellhoelter (Lee). He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
