She was predeceased by: her parents, George J. Guengerich and Henrietta Ursula Guengerich (Greaser); her husband John H. Schmidt; and her siblings, LeRoy, Robert Lee Guengerich and Verda Strang.
She is survived by: her sons, Joel Hamilton Schmidt (Patsy) of Greensburg and Denton Anthony Schmidt (Cindy) of Greensburg; her grandchildren, Jeremi Schmidt of Dodge City, Leah Kerbs (Clayton) of Dodge City, Logan Schmidt (Allison) of Dodge City, Steve and Brian Terry; and her great grandchildren, Gage, Avianna Schmidt, Porter, Chandler, Creighton Paul Kerbs, Makenzi and Collin Schmidt.
She was a member of the Greensburg Mennonite Church, Extension Homemakers Unit, Kiowa County Health Foundation, and the Kiowa County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, all of Greensburg and the La Junta Mennonite School of Nursing Alumni Association.
