He was predeceased by: his parents, Tony Katzer and Anna Katzer (Egidy); and his brothers, Ralph Katzer, Mark Katzer, Maurice Katzer and Jerry Katzer.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Katzer; his children, Norbert Katzer, Dale Katzer of Osawatomie, Kansas, Susan McCarty of Wellsville, Kansas, Randy Katzer and Kelly of Lawrence, Kansas; his grandchildren, Paige McCarty of Tulsa and Dylan McCarty of Pittsburg, Kansas; his siblings, Virgil Katzer (Linda), Ben Katzer (Barbara), Fred Katzer (Nancy), Mike Katzer, Anthonette Wolken, Marlene Hermreck, Theresa Morgan and Kathy Wittman (Chuck); and his sister-in-law Kay Katzer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Building Fund and left in care of the funeral home.
