She was predeceased by: her parents, William A. Carter and Ruby Carter (Canon); her husbands, Ray J. Brakebill and Elmo H. Lowry; her siblings, Emmett Carter, James Carter, Reginald Carter, Charles Wayne Carter and Louise Pelayo; and her stepson Duane Lowry.

She is survived by: her sister Lois Parker of Claremont, Calif.; and her stepdaughter Joyce Jackson of Council Grove.
