She was predeceased by: her parents, Glen Platt and Ola Platt (Miller); her husband Ralph E. Weller; her son-in-law Mike Whelan; her brothers, Paul, Delbert and Bill Platt; and her sisters-in-law, Joye Platt and Shirley Platt.
She is survived by: her children, Becky Weller of Great Bend and David Weller of Great Bend; her grandchildren, Machaela Whelan (David Norlin) of Overland Park, Kinnat Whelan of Lawrence and Jeremey Weller (Brooke) of Great Bend; and her great grandchild Natalie. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ruth loved travel and the arts and throughout her life was a member of the Wet and Dry Route Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail Association, the Golden Belt Community Concert Association, Great Bend Community Theatre, and the Kansas Historical Foundation.
