He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry William and Mildred Oleta Elliott (Wisehart); his siblings, Darold Elliott and Joan Keener; and his brothers-in-law, Eddie Hickel and Garrel Brewer.

He is survived by: his spouse Jan Brewer; his daughter Shala Ehrlich (Chad) of Great Bend; his sister Lois Hickel of Salina; his granddaughter Addie; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Keener and Charles Brewer.
