He was predeceased by: his parent August Burress; and his sister Gloria Barrientez. He is survived by: his mother Veta Burress (Gregory); his wife Helen Burress; his daughter Renee Burress of Great Bend; his grandson Michael Burress; and his siblings, Glen Burress of Ellinwood, Leland McAlister of Larned, Freida Jobes of Great Bend, Wanda Dodson (Ron) of Hays and Laveta Furthmeyer (Larry) of Gorham.
The family requests those in attendance to wear masks and social distance.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be designated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Labre Indian School, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
