She was predeceased by: her parents, George J. Maier and Anna M. Maier (Daubert); her husband David Slankard; her children, Thomas Slankard, Georgia Slankard and Phyllis Jean Slankard; her siblings, David Maier, Solomon "Sam" Maier, Emil Maier, Edward Maier, Hilda Jones, Alma Stewart, Martha Bender and Edna Nuss; and her son-in-law Michael Nix.
She is survived by: her daughter Carol Nix of Wichita; her granddaughter Melissa Nix of Wichita; her stepgranddaughter Rebekah Unruh (Delmar); her stepgreat-grandchildren, LaTisha Brown and Tyler Unruh; and her sister Eleanora Postlethwaite. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
