He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Gerstenkorn and Caroline Gerstenkorn (Kaiser); his son Brian; his sisters, Linda and Kathleen; and his great grandchild Mary Pittman.

He is survived by: his wife Maggie Wirtz; and his children, Don Gerstenkorn (Donna), Betty Koester (Ron), Kathy Schneider (Bob), Karen Parrett (Doug) and Dennis Gerstenkorn (Stephanie) of Spokane, WA.. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, and 36 great grandchildren.
