He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry E. Thurston and Frances Marie Thurston (Smith); his father-in-law Joe Berning; and his brother-in-law Bruce Berning. He is survived by: his wife Jolene K. Thurston of Great Bend, Kansas; his children, Jason Thurston (Shari) of Overland Park, Jarrod Thurston of Great Bend, Kansas and Janeé Bernal (Jesse) of Wichita, Kansas; his grandchildren, Jacey Thurston, Braydon Thurston, JohnPaul Bernal, Gabriella Bernal and Jude Bernal; and his brother Harold Thurston of Dighton, Kansas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
