He is survived by: his wife Wilda Whala; his children, Michael Merten (Pamela) of Great Bend and Lahree Jenkins (Ken) of Comanche, OK; his grandchildren, Bradley Jenkins, Jaclynn Jenkins, Ryan Jenkins, Cordell Merten and Kyler Merten; and his nephew Lew Erhart.
