George Adam Hejny Obituary
We are sad to announce that on February 14, 2025, at the age of 91, George Adam Hejny of Great Bend, Kansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hejny and Christine Hejny (Stremel); his siblings, Edward Hejny, Ralph Hejny and Susan Shupe (Boyd); his brother-in-law Lee Tattershall; his sister Clara Mae Hejny; his stepdaughter Deborah Sue Campbell; his grandson Riley Hager; and his stepson Darin Campbell.
He is survived by: his wife Dixie J. Hejny of Norton; his children, Douglas Hejny of Great Bend, Daniel Hejny (Jenny) of McCamey, Tex, Robert Hejny of Great Bend and Georgina "Gina" Cartmill (Howard) of Dighton; his stepchildren, Deyton Hagar of Cambridge Neb and Julie Campbell of Norton; his siblings, Esther Tattershall of Fruita, Colo, Alice Copple (Max) of Miltonvale, Helen Ackerman (Richard) of Concordia, Donald Hejny (Roberta) of La Mesa, Calif, Bernard Hejny (Jeannie) of Grand Junction, Colo and Leonard Hejny of Gorham; and his aunt Ada Stremel of Great Bend. He is also survived by many friends made, but especially his family.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home (1425 S Patton Rd, Great Bend, KS 67530). A prayer was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (4100 Broadway Ave, Great Bend, KS 67530).
