He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Thomas Robert and Ethel Simmons (Nichelson); his brother Everett Earl Simmons; his stepfather Harold Taylor; and his father-in-law Gerhardt Nuss.
He is survived by: his children, Shane Simmons of Great Bend and Stephanie L. Simmons of Waco, Texas; his grandchildren, Kathlena Shaughnessy (James), Landon Orr (Lydia), Jaysa Orr and Dakota Simmons; his great grandchildren, Owen Shaughnessy, Kellan Orr, Zealand Orr, Evelyn Orr, Harlyn Orr and Amarett Simmons; his siblings, Annalee Short of Wichita, Merrie Evan of Mo and Melvin Simmons of Medicine Lodge; and his mother-in-law Delora Nuss of Great Bend.
The inurnment was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Inurnment Golden Belt Memorial Park (59 NW 50 Rd, Great Bend, KS 67530).
