He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Schmidt and Anna Schmidt (Unruh). He is survived by: his wife Janice; and his children, Michael Schmidt (Janet) of Cornelius, Dennis Schmidt (Terrie) of Cape Coral, Florida and Brenda Girard of Hays. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
