He was predeceased by: his parents, John Penka and Mary Hazel Penka (Simmons); his daughter Marcene Penka; and his siblings, Norman Penka, Elvin Penka, Valetta Stroble, Cleta Jackson and Ellen Jo Penka.
He is survived by: his wife Lilly Penka; his children, Matt Penka (Christi) of Great Bend, Michele Smith (Delbert) of Topeka and Melissa Sides of Hutchinson; and his grandchildren, Lauren Penka, Blake Penka, Dru Penka, Sarah Smith, Samantha Smith, Ashley Sides and Braden Sides.
Memorials may be given to Sully's Foundation for Epilepsy Research and Education (SFERE) or Kans for Kids, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
