He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Payton and Theresa Payton (Borecky); his wife Dorothy L. Tanton; and his grandson Jeremiah McCutchen. He is survived by: his children, Nancy Miller (Leland) of Great Bend, Susan Swonger (Brett) of Pratt, KS, Robert Payton (Lara) of Mulvane, KS and Dale Payton (Carol) of Tulsa, OK; and his sister Ethel Ritchie of Novi, MI.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery E. 8th (915 E 8th St, Ellsworth, KS 67439).
