He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Virgil Essman and Clinie Essman (House); his sons, Jimmy (Ronda) of Grantville and Richard Essman (Angie) of Grantville; his sisters, Loueva Daniels of Moberly, MO, Effie Rees of Grantville and Rosetta Herman of Lawrence; and his grandchildren, Ryan Essman, Justin Essman, Michelle Garlock and Christina Saeugling. He was also cherished by eight great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grantville United Methodist Church or Elara Caring and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
