She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Hawks and Pearl Branick Hawks; and her brother Richard Hawks (Lois). She is survived by: her former spouse Dean Barnes; her husband Curtis Hurd; her children, Sheryl Davis of Colby, KS, Curtis Barnes of Omaha, NE, Debra Rogan (Don Jr.) of Costa Rica, Lisa Hoffman (Joe) of Goodland, KS and Cynthia Todd (Brent) of Lexington, NC.; her siblings, Margie Bovier of Prairie Grove, AK and David Hawks (Linda) of Yreka, CA.; and also, Sheryl and Curtis. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
