He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gustav Duerksen and Emma Duerksen (Schmidt); his wife Susan Schmidt; his sisters, Ruth Linscheid and Olivia Duerksen; his children, Tamara Jost (Cal) of Hillsboro, Kimberly Funk (Darwin) of Goessel, Londell Duerksen (LeNora) of Goessel and Russell Duerksen (Sandra) of Hillsboro; and his sister Emmalyn Hiebert (John) of Beatrice, NE. He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
