He was predeceased by : his father Elwyn Viets. He is survived by : his mother Elda Viets (Meyer); his former life partner Kristi Ramey; his wife Lora Keller; his children, Chris Keller (Erin) of Driftwood, Texas, Allison Stewart (Jason Miller) of Hutchinson, Becca Diskin (Brent) of Carl Junction, Ashley Keller of Kansas City, Joni Martino (Travis) of Murphy and Katie Viets (Zack Foraker) of Girard; and his siblings, Tim "Opie" Viets (Rhonda) of Brazilton, Mark Viets (Kim) of Brazilton and Terry Viets of Brazilton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Due to Covid concerns, there will be no visitation Thursday evening.
