He was predeceased by: his parents, W. Earl Schifferdecker and Florene Schifferdecker (Morrison) of Girard; and his siblings, Carlene Neihart (Schifferdecker) of Kansas City and Martin Schifferdecker of Girard. He is survived by: his son David; his daughter-in-law Stacey Schifferdecker of Tulsa; his daughter Nancy George (Schifferdecker); his son-in-law Ed George of Hepler; his grandchildren, Kegan Schifferdecker of Oklahoma City, Wyatt Schifferdecker of Tulsa, Jocelyn Schifferdecker of Wichita, Nicholas George of Pittsburg, Nathan George and Ethan George of Ankeny, Iowa.; and his sisters-in-law, Velda Lehman of Mulberry and Sandra Schifferdecker of Girard. He is also survived by three nephews, and two nieces.
The family suggests memorials to the John E. Schifferdecker Education Scholarship at Pittsburg State University. A memorial gift may also be made to the Girard Area Community Foundation for benefit of the United Methodist Church of Girard Endowed Fund.
