He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Roy Sauer and Margaret Sauer (Walsh); his wife Mary Elaine Curtis; his son Dwight Sauer; his uncle Joe Sauer; his children, Greta Zaring (Steve) of Fort Collins, CO, Brian Sauer (Phyllis) of Pittsburg, KS, Randy Sauer (Pam) of Carl Junction, MO, Doug Sauer (Kelly) of Houston, TX and Brad Sauer (Michelle) of Siloam Springs, AR; his grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley, Alison, Andrew, Claire, Paige, Laura, Annelise, Adam and Evan; and his cousin Trisha Sauer. He was also cherished by three great grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to St. Michael's Catholic Church, Catholic Charities, or the American Legion Big Flag.
