She was predeceased by: her parent Marjorie Hendrix-Thurston; her brother John Thurston; and her husband Jim Jewell. She is survived by: her children, Brandon Mills, Michael Mills (Sonya), Both of Garnett, KS, Laura Grover (Charles) of Independence, KS and Cassandra Jewell (Shawn) of Garnett, KS; and her siblings, Phillip Thurston (Evelyn) of Wichita, KS, Daniel Thurston (Jenny) of Leavenworth, KS, Wanda Thompson (Glen) of Parkville, MO, Pam Wranich (Joe) of Leavenworth, KS and Jennifer Thurston-Manning of Overland Park, KS. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to the Olathe Hospice House.
