He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernal Pontious and Margaret "Maggie" Pontious (Ackerly); and his wife Betty Pontious. He is survived by: his daughters, Nancy Farrar of Topeka and Linda Umbarger of Garnett; his grandchildren, Stacey Noll, Kristin Lotridge, Chad Farrar (Robin) and Heath Farrar (Brenna); and his sister Wilma Wingo of Princeton, Kansas. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Garnett and left in care of the funeral home.
