He was predeceased by: his parents, Durward M. Gilkey and Maxine Gilkey; his siblings, Jerry, Melvin, Fred and Tina; and his grandson Ryder Nicol.
He is survived by: his spouse Leonella "Nelli" A. Meyeres; his children, David Gilkey (Katie), Adam Gilkey (Amy), Tammy Nickless (Jon), Stephannie Nicol (Mitchell) and Ammie Schibler (Robert); his grandchildren, Taylar, Ragan, Colby, Paige Nickless, Reilly, Carson, Hayden Stumpff, Brodey, Emersyn Nicol, Logan, Rhett Gilkey, Dylaney, Jefferson Weaver, Quincy Schibler, Finn and Addison Gilkey; his stepgrandchild Mikyla Hill (Caleb); his sister Nyla; and his pet Lucky.
