He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Gail and Ada Louise Joplin (Perkins); and his siblings, Margaret, John, Jack, Jerry and Glen.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Kay Hutchinson (Perry); his children, Dana Shoenhard, Craig Joplin, Gwen DeGarmoe, Teresa Scullawl, Tamar Johnston and Tonia Mitchell; and his sisters, Ada Ellen Joplin, Nelda Booker, Virginia and Dixie Cooper. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
