He is survived by: his children, Julie Highfill of Gardner, Mark Welch of Gardner, Paul, Dean and Kala Welch of Overland Park; his grandchildren, David Highfill Jr (Allison) of Leawood, Ryan Highfill (Becca) of Overland Park, Jared Highfill, Lauren Highfill of Gardner, Alexandra Welch of Merriam, Samuel Welch and Abigail Welch; his brother Lauren Welch of Wichita; his great grandchild Griffin Highfill; and also Smith.
