He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Eugene and Margaret Brittain (Rodell); his daughter Kimberly Brittain; and his siblings, Steve Brittain and Deborah Brittain.

He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Matt Brittain of Gardner, Kansas, Michael Brittain of Gardner, Kansas, Amanda "Mandy" Stewart and Megan Crawford; and his brother Brian Brittain. He is also survived by four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
