He was predeceased by: his parents, George Rankin and Ethel Rankin; and his siblings, Howard Rankin, Harold Rankin, Velma Campbell, Marcy Edwards, Merle Winters and Dorothy Kelleher.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Rankin; his children, Mike Rankin (Susan) of Olathe and Melody Rankin Gatti (Joe Gatti) of Lawrence; his grandsons, Joe Rankin (Bernadette), Paul Rankin (Nastya), John Gatti (Emily) and Anthony Gatti (Jessica); and his great grandchild Ben Kuhn-Rankin.
