He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Lubbers and Aurelia Blasi; his wife Phyllis Lubbers (Geubelle); and his brothers, Kenneth and Reynold.

He is survived by: his daughters, Lynette Markel (Daryl), Lesa Maus (Perry) and Lavina Telford (Shawn); and his siblings, Dolores, Vincent, Larry, Dennis, Eddie and Randy. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with St Joseph Catholic School, 13015 E Maple Grove Rd, Ost, KS 67108.
