With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gilbert Bergkamp Sr. (Garden Plain, Kansas), born in Pretty Prairie, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 29, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Bergkamp and Nora Bergkamp (Gerber); his son Dan; and his brothers, Wilford, Norbert, Harold, Gerald, Joe, Don and William.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn (Hein); his children, Gil Bergkamp, Gerard Bergkamp (Cindy), Gwen Lagaly (Bryan), Gina Mason and Garret Bergkamp (Lisa); and his daughter-in-law Julie Bergkamp. He is also survived by his 29 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church Building Fund (4813 NE 150th Ave. Cheney, KS 67025).
