Jesus Jose Ortiz Obituary
We are sad to announce that on April 2, 2025, at the age of 72, Jesus Jose Ortiz of Garden City, Kansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Pedro Leyva Chavez and Virginia Ortiz Aguilar; and his close friend Vicente Leyva. He is survived by: his wife Celia Godinez; his niece Lupita Leyva (Julio); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Idaly, Dayami, Mariano and Adamariz; his nieces and nephews, Cristina Leyva, Cristal Leyva, Ignacio Leyva (Karina), Rene Leyva, Jr. (Cecy), Omar Leyva, Dolores Leyva, Cristobal Leyva and Maria Elena Gomez; and also, Pedro Leyva, Dora Leyva, Vicki Leyva and Martha Ramos.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Garnand Funeral Home (412 N 7th St, Garden City, KS 67846). A rosary was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the St Mary Catholic Church (509 St John St, Garden City, KS 67846). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
