He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Edwin and Aileen Nelson (Harinen); his wife Sharon Bedore; his granddaughter Jayme Nelson; and his siblings, Paul Nelson, Dennis Nelson and Gertrude Petersen.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael (Nona Nelson) of Garden City and Gary (Jodie Nelson) of Lakin; his grandchildren, Adam Nelson (Cammie), Greg Nelson (Tricia) and Jenna Lampe (Dustin); and his sisters, Betty Bergeron and Beverly Heger. He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.
