It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alta Mae (Hall) Merrill of Galesburg, Kansas, who passed away on January 6, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Hall and Leona Hall (Lewis); her husband Charles Joseph Merrill; her brothers, Marion Francis Hall and Dwain Hall; her brother-in-law Larry Bohn; and her son-in-law John Hensley.
She is survived by: her children, Scrabble, UpWords, Charlene Thomas of Austin, TX, Allene Hensley of Erie, Jay Merrill (Doris) of Manhattan and Joe Merrill (Donna) of Olathe; her siblings, Don Hall (Norma) of Shawnee and Vicky Bohn of Ooltewah, TN; her sister-in-law Lonva Hall of Bolivar, MO; and her grandchildren, Chris Read (Holly), Travis Read (Karista), Jennifer Pleman (Kelly), Angela Roberts (Jim), Jessica Erickson (Scot), Jason Hensley (Tammy) and Chad Merrill. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
