He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Chappell and Velma Chappell (Garrett); his former spouse Willie Mae Haggard; his daughter Linda Denise Chappell; and his sisters, Alma Lawrence, Ilene Hill and Frances Barlett.
He is survived by: his wife Cleta Gale Beers (Bellamy); his children, Steven Roy Chappell (Carrie), Janiece Marie Nye (Bill) of Kenosha, WI, Timothy Beers (Angela) of Springdale, AR, Beth Curtis (Steven) and Derenda Shoemaker (Wesley) of Galena, KS; his siblings, Elmer Chappell (Roberta) of Millington, MI, Marvin "Butch" Chappell (Jan) of Westwood, CA and Nina Clore of Hollister, CA; and also Bill Nye. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Messenger College, Bedford, TX in care of the funeral home.
