He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hunter and Mabel Hunter; his son Kent Hunter; and his close friend Janice Cole. He is survived by: his daughter Kathy Cherney (Jim) of Lees Summit, MO; his grandchildren, Nicholas and Victoria Cherney; and his sister Rebecca Abram. He is also survived by two nephews, and one niece.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Derfelt Funeral Home - Galena (1116 S Main St, Galena, KS 66739). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
