He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Paul Black and Agnes Black (Sommerhauser); and his brother Chester Paul Black. He is survived by: his wife Lela Black (Henley); his children, Cheri Poole (Jerry) of Island Park, ID and Michael Black (Tammy) of Emporia, KS.; his grandsons, Dillon Poole (Kelly) of New York City, Sean Poole (Leann) of Junction City, KS, Josh Poole of Big Sandy, MT and Tanner Black (Nicole) of Lawrence, KS.; his great grandchildren, Liam and Elliana Poole; and his siblings, Evonne Duff of Delaware and Roger Black (Brenda) of Wichita. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A lifelong hunter, outdoorsman, and avid golfer, Joe was a dedicated member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the NRA.
