He was predeceased by: his parents, Josiah Calvin and Flora Belle Crist (Wray); his great grandchild Tyra Brooks; his siblings, Everett (Delta Marie), Myrtle (Amos Wightsman) and Imogene (Alva Riffey); his sister-in-law Mary Ann Jamison; and his nephew Elvin Crist.
He is survived by: his children, Overbrook, Wendel (Beverly), Gerlyn (Amy), Laverle, Jerel (Lizz), Nadine Kessler (Ronnie) and Loreta Barton (Phillip); his daughters-in-law, Jane Crist and Jolene Crist; and his brother-in-law Melvin Jamison. He is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren; eighteen grandchildren.
