He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Shearer and Maye Shearer (Forseman); his wife Preceding; and his siblings, John, Lester, Louise Fox, Mae Robinson and Faye Tilley.
He is survived by: his former wife Helen Louise Ladner; his children, Peggy Jo and John Eugene; his grandchildren, Jimilee Riley Rempe of Little Elm, TX, Sean Riley of Baton Rouge, LA, Clayton Shearer (Maggie) of Brighton, CO and Mitchell Shearer of Overland Park, KS; and his great grandchildren, Addyson, Coralie Shearer and Andi Jo Rempe.
