He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronald Walter Dean and Lizzie Limebeck Dean; his former wife Merleen Della King; and his sisters, Shirley Arno and LaNita Siebel.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon; and his children, James Dean of Ft. Scott and Julie VanBecelaere (Ted) of Osceola, Missouri. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
