She was predeceased by: her parents, Olen L. Smith and Jewel A. Smith (Wood); her children, Jason Nelson and Kristie Batten; and her siblings, Madeline Slaughter, Johnny Smith, Joe Smith and Terry Smith.
She is survived by: her husband Robert Keith Nelson; her son Brandon; her sister Bobbie Beasley of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and her grandchildren, Chelsey Miller, Dylan Nelson, Bayleigh Nelson, Dysen Batten and Trenidy Batten. She is also survived by four great grandchildren.
