She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Orlando and Mary Josephine Pitts Michael. She is survived by: her husband Roy Townsend; her sons, Perry Townsend (Jane) of Redfield, KS and Jerry Townsend (Amber); her siblings, Ernie Michael (Mary Ann) of Redfield, KS, Nola Hughes (Jerry) of Stotesbury, MO, Margaret Parker, Merle Mayfield and Rose Lowe; and her grandchildren, Adam Townsend and Sarah Bower (Justin). She is also survived by great granddaughter on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to either Ronald McDonald House or Bethel Community Church and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, PO Box 347, 201 S. Main St., Ft. Scott, KS 66701.
