She was predeceased by: her parents, Harlan Spencer and Mabel Spencer (Hicks); her husband Jim; her son Jim "Sandy" Mertz; and her brothers, Joseph Spencer and George Spencer.
She is survived by: her daughter Melessa Demo (Brad); her grandchildren, Mandy Symons of Centennial, CO and J. T. Symons (Angie); her great grandchild Hunter; and her pets, Beans and Frank.
She was a volunteer at Mercy Hospital, volunteered with the Red Cross, American Heart Association, and Meals on Wheels.
