She was predeceased by: her parents, Nicholas Jones and Frances Glendenning Jones; her son Tiff W Spurgeon; and her sisters, Wilma "Billie" Hinman and Rosadene Briner.
She is survived by: her children, Vickie Chaplin (Rod) of Fort Scott, Terri Staton (Jeff) of Pleasanton, Kenneth Spurgeon (Stacie) of Stockton, Tony Spurgeon of Pleasanton, Patsy Smith (Dale) of Pleasanton, Bobbi Williams (Scott) of Columbus and Richard Spurgeon Fort (Stacey); and her siblings, Lois Anderson of Girard, Janet Post of Olathe, Kansas, Louis "Nick" Jones of Pittsburg and Lawrence "Dale" Jones of Paola, Kansas.. She is also survived by Her children gave her 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hillside Guest Home in Mary Jo's name and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, PO Box 347, 201 S. Main St., Fort Scott, KS 66701.
