He was predeceased by: his parents, Tommy Austin and Hattie Horning Austin; his wife Betty Jean Townley; his daughter Janet Mason; and his brothers, Stanley Lee and Charles Clinton Austin.
He is survived by: his daughter Tammy Winter-Heimsoth (Kirby); his granddaughter Casey Winter-Fogle (John); his great grandchild Michael; his granddaughter Amber Ramirez (Daniel); his great grandchildren, Jaydon, Zac, Elian and Izaiah; his siblings, Henry Jay Austin and Hazel Marie Green; and his friend Blanche Williams. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
