He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry F. Carpenter and Emogene McCoach Carpenter; and his siblings, Louise Licklider and Larry Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife Janet Rae Hurd; his sons, Jon Carpenter (Kim) of Ft Scott and Jim Carpenter (Diane) of Olathe, Kansas; his grandchildren, Jana Johnson (Michael) of Ft. Scott, Kyle Carpenter (Anna) of Erie, Jon Thomas Carpenter (Rachel) of Ft. Scott, Kelsey Young (Drew) of Bentonville, Crystal Haro (Jamin) of Overland Park, Mark Feagins of Joplin, Adrian Ariana of Olathe and Jayden Carpenter of Olathe; and his great grandchildren, Randell, Liam Johnson, Evelyn Carpenter, Macy and Micah Haro.
