Jim Zimmerman Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jim Zimmerman of Fort Riley, Kansas, who passed away on June 28, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Zimmerman and Elvira Zimmerman (Wilwerding); his wife Ferdonna Zimmerman; his brother Larry Zimmerman; his parents-in-law, Herman and Irene Hast; and his sisters-in-law, Detta Zimmerman and Annie Lou Zimmerman.
He is survived by : his daughter Vickie Hanson of Spencer; his granddaughters, Cassandra Nelson (Jon) of Bondurant and Christina Hanson (Bradley Lackey) of Bondurant; his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Rylee and Remington; and his siblings, Dewey Zimmerman (Sharon) of Chesterfield, JoAnn Martens (James) of Manning, Jerry Zimmerman (Sue) of Dixon, Delbert Zimmerman of Summerville, Thelma Kenkel (Vern) of Denison and Anita Hansen (Leonard) of Exira. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
A rosary was held on Tuesday, July 2nd 2024 from 8:30 AM to 8:45 AM at the Sacred Heart Church (555 3rd Ave, Manilla, IA 51454). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 2nd 2024 from 8:45 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 2nd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, July 2nd 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, July 2nd 2024 at the Oak Hill Cemetery (1914 Rd M47, Irwin, IA 51446).
Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation in Jim's name.
