He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, J. Eugene "Smitty" Smith and Inga Smith; his wife Lona Smith; his children, Cara Christian and Tyler Smith; and his siblings, Brenda "Sis" Hoobler, Gerald "Bub" Smith, Donald Smith and Debra Jean Clement. He was also cherished by ten grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church in Horton and may be sent in care of the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary.
